Program Description

Event Details

While the casino may be the first thing that comes to people's mind when they think of Diamond Jo, it's author Larry Friedman's goal to educate people about the fascinating life of the man it was named after. Learn about the industrious spirit that led Diamond Jo Reynolds through many business ventures and the legacy he left behind. Larry Friedman will give a 30-minute presentation about his new book followed by a signing.

Known locally as "Mr. Dubuque," Larry Friedman is a Dubuque bred resident, Loras College graduate, and recipient of the Telegraph Herald First Citizen Award (1999). After 40 years with the Friedman Insurance group, he began writing local history. This is his third book. Copies will be available for sale at the event.
